Football Program News!!

Hello Tiger Football Families:
It’s almost that time of year again. There is nothing like Tiger Football games on Friday nights under the lights. The players and coaches are hard at work preparing for the upcoming season. We are now asking the players, parents and boosters to also go to work.
Our main fundraiser for this season is a game program that will be handed out at home football games. We need our football families to sell program ads to businesses and families with fan favorite ads (family support ads for your favorite player).
The money raised  from these advertisements will go a long way in our ability to give our boys a FIRST CLASS football experience.
We TRULY need ALL of your help to achieve this goal. If each family can raise $200 or more in advertising, we will surely be able to fund all of the activities that Coach Scammons laid out in his e-mail to all football families on July 12, 2013. He stated that the Gridiron funds the following:

1. Freshman football-coaches, buses, officials
2. Buses for scrimmages
3. HUDL-our online video system (used for recruiting, player highlights and coaching
4. Decals for helmets (this is not covered by the school)
5. End of the Year Banquet-food and awards
6. Senior Night
7. Coaching Clinics
8. Enzone Camera System-used to record games
9. Equiptment/Supplies not provided by the school

We all know how important this fundraiser is to the success of the Tiger Football program. Please participate in this effort to give OUR program the needed resources to succeed this season.
You will find two links in this post. Both links will take you to our FORMS page where you can download each form. The first is a Program Advertising Form (Football Program Ad Form 2013) that you can fill out with your advertisers’ information along with their checks. The completed forms and checks should be forwarded to Peggy Baker. Peggy’s info is on the Ad Form.

The other link is a list of businesses that have supported Tiger Football over the past few seasons(Program Sponsor List 2013).  I’m sure that everyone knows at least one or two of these business owners and can get them to run an Ad to support the 2013 Tiger Football team. Also, please contact individuals that you know who own local businesses or work in bigger companies that have the ability to support our program with an Ad.
The fan favorite ads are a great way for your family and relatives to show their support for your son. I’m sure we can all get their grandparents, aunts, uncles, or family friends to show their support for their favorite player.

Please notify the committee when you secure an advertisement from anyone on the list. This will allow us to  inform everyone, so your efforts will not be duplicated.
All advertising should be sent in ASAP, so we can get the booklet ready for the printer. We are running against the clock as our first home game is September 14th.

ALL AD INFORMATION AND CHECKS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN AUGUST 25th, 2013

Please know that you can call any of the South Hadley Gridiron officers, or members of the Program Ad Committee with any questions or concerns. The committee is made up of:

John Baker (413) 348-7792                                                       Tommy Fitzell (413) 348-4781
Tom Allard (413) 244-1227                                                        Ed Beattie (413) 348-6480
Ceasar Fernandes (860) 707-5677                                           Dan Burnett (413) 563-5004

We are all looking forward to a FANTASTIC football season from our boys. Our goal is to start the season off with a TRULY successful fundraiser!!!!

THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!

Summer Weight Room Info.

The High School weight room will be open, and supervised by the coaching staff, every Monday Wednesday and Friday from 7 am - 8:30 am. All athletes should enter through the back door - DO NOT WALK THROUGH SCHOOL.

For any players interested in the team weight training program, put together by Coach Scammons, please download the 2013 Lifting Program here: http://shadleyfootball.stackvarsity.com/forms/

I would also like to remind players and parents to properly hydrate during the hot summer months and make sure to eat a healthy breakfast before heading out in the morning to workout. It is important to drink plenty of water BEFORE activity, as well as during and after. We want to avoid heat related injury/illness so be careful not to push yourself too hard during summer training sessions, especially if not under the supervision of a coach or athletic trainer.
